Frequently Asked Questions
What is your stance on Genetically Modified Foods or GMOs?
Whole Earth gives preference to products that are certified organic or meet the Non-GMO Project Standard (hyperlink to standard). Products that do not meet the standard are carefully assessed. We do not bring in and new non-certified products that contain the most commonly genetically modified foods, including corn, soy, canola, sugar beets, papaya, squash (zucchini and yellow), and alfalfa.
Is EVERYTHING in the store organic?
Our produce department is all organic. Our bakery and deli use predominantly organic ingredients. Throughout the store we prioritize organic purchasing, but not everything we carry is available in an organic version.
Which days of the year are you closed?
We are closed on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. We close early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
How can I get my product carried in your store?
We are proud to help many local producers come to market for the very first time. If you have a product you would like to feature in our store, we’d love to talk with you. All products must be produced in an approved kitchen inspected by an appropriate federal agency (FDA or USDA) or a state or local health agency.
Is Whole Earth Center a co-op?
No. Whole Earth Center is a full service grocery store that carries only 100% organic produce and a carefully curated array of products that are each held to our high environmental and product-quality standards.
